THE WRITTEN WORD

The letters and articles found in this section are by no means an exhaustive compendium of e-mail and links exchanged. This is merely a sampling of what was on friends' minds in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.

I have selected them in the order they appeared in my inbox, and they appear as written. I may not agree with what I am posting here, and in some cases, definitely don't agree - but the written word, for better or worse, represents the thinking of the senders. They are friends, and other contacts, and I'm glad they shared their thoughts.

I hope you take something away from their expression of what 9/11 meant to them.

Unless the author of an article or commentary in the "Written Word" section is a public figure, those entries will only be identified by initials.
