Day-O (Air Force Come) is a nice little remake of Harry Belafonte's "Day-O (Banana Boat)," first published on "Calypso," issued in 1956. "Calypso" topped the charts for an impressive 31 weeks. A version of the song is on Very Best Of Harry Belafonte, released November 6, 2001 on the BMG/RCA label. With 22 cuts on the CD, it's a good value - you can skip the ones you don't like and have plenty left over to enjoy! At CD NOW for $17.97. |

Killing That Jerk Osama is based on "Livin' La Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin (Enrique Martin Morales) from his euphoniously titled 1999 album. Released on May 11 by Sony/Columbia, the album had more than 130 performers/musicians on it, including Martin, with 66 people listed in the production credits. This was Martin's first English-language pop record. Details or purchase of "Ricky Martin" at CD NOW on CD ($18.97), tape ($12.49) or Vinyl ($15.99). |

Die Osama is a clever twist on 1979's "My Sharona" by The Knack. The Knack didn't seem to have the knack of following up on the critical acclaim and public success of their first two albums, and generally pissed off the press and the management around them by refusing to "play the game" of rounds of interviews. The past couple of years have seen a small revival of sorts for them, and they still have a dedicated cadre of listeners. Normal As the Next Guy (2001) may give them a third revival, but for me, the first was the best - "Get The Knack" is available at CD NOW, priced at $11.49. |

Osama Must Die is a rip-off of "Because I Got High" by Afroman. Released on June 20, 2000, the album has lyrics that most folks over 27 or so won't "enjoy," although this treatment more than does justice to the original. But what do I know? Because I Got High is available at CD NOW for $14.99. |
