Nicole Fournier. Oh, man - what can I say about Nicole? Besides the fact that she is a absolutely kickass guitar player? Oh, yeah, she is also a very accomplished songwriter with an edge. No wimpy "Oh, poor me, I done lost my man" lyrics from this woman, oh no. And she can sing. Well, duh - stuff me in a bag and beat it with sticks for not going out to see her perform more often!
A San Francisco native, Nicole has set her roots in the Northwest, and is a veteran performer and award-winning blues artist. Nominated by the Washington Blues Society for 2002's "Best Electric Guitar" and "Best Female Guitarist," Nicole took some time off, but came back with a vengeance.
Nicole's band, "3lb. Universe," has undergone another reformation, now as a trio featuring Barb Blue on bass and Bill Brammer on drums.
Nicole and 3lb. Universe released their last CD, "Not Forgotten," in 2003. "Not Forgotten" was produced by Nicole, Ric Ulsky and Randy Oxford. Picked one up and discovered a couple of acoustic tunes as well as her trademark biting electric. Two of the new electric tunes are available for download below, as well as one of my favorites from her first CD, "From The Beginning."
